GET TO KNOW US
We are giving people a chance to contribute to the community, more specifically hospitals, in an accessible way. Our vision is to make all patients' days a little bit brighter. By buying gifts for all generations temporarily, or permanently, staying at hospitals, through donations and fundraisers.
For example, on Christmas we deliver little presents for them to feel the holiday spirit. Not only holidays, but we purchase many toys for everyday use, for babies, waiting rooms etc. We can't deliver gifts to patients all over the world, however we can still light up a great number of people's faces with one gift through this organization. All gifts pre-made and bought, for sanitary reasons and health.
Last of all, we provide family videos, craft tutorials, and activity sheets created by our very own volunteers. We also give other volunteer opportunities like writing encouraging notes to patients, healthcare workers and families.

AWARENESS

We'd like to bring awareness to the homeless, and a diverse range of medical struggles one may have. As more of the world becomes aware of these issues/difficulties, more people can help. Subtle Hands posts informational posts, holds workshops and more!
All donations/funds go to making kits/buying necessities for the homeless and gifts for adolescent patients.

ABOUT ME

Executive Director of Subtle Hands: Lauren Kim
My name is Lauren Kim and I am the founder of Subtle Hands. I am a regular freshman in high school, and a daughter in an average family... Why did I create Subtle Hands? Starting at a young age, I've been going in and out of hospitals all over LA. I would tremble in fear of going, despite the extreme pain taking over my body. Many hospitals provide welcoming decorations on the wall of bright butterflies, and activities on the tables of the waiting room. But from my perspective, the fear of hospitals overcame my love for pretty wall stickers and coloring books. Hospitals do not spend a lot of money in small comforting items, they spend it on new equipment and treatments. Therefore, I created this nonprofit to help support hospitals, healthcare workers and patients. The small things really stick with you in the end! I still have the stuffed animal my doctor gave me after my surgery, and I still look back on it to this day. I would like to provide these simple, embracing opportunities for more patients, as well as gifts to show my gratitude towards all the amazing healthcare workers around the world.
